Schlachthofbronx is back with a bang: The hybrid club music production duo from Munich are flexing their bass skills as they are known for, sure, but on their new single SWAY, they exit the highway of low end possibilities at a slightly poppier crossroad and crash right into an alt-R&B hit. Teaming up with the “east european icon-in-waiting” Eliza Legzdina for this saucy banger of a tune, they created a futuristic and stripped back vision of what an R&B song can be - Sway!

Sharing a strong love for all things Grime and UK Bass culture, the Latvia-via-London vocalist Eliza Legzdina and Schlachthofbronx quickly linked via a Goethe artist residency program during the pandemic and started to make songs together. Soon, one tune in particular was crystallizing from these sessions that was different: Sway. Not a full-on electronic club banger like you would have expected, but rather of a much more complex and unique flavor: A sculpture of a leftfield R&B song, warm and organic in its aesthetics without ever feeling retro, stripped back to key elements and highly effective in grinding a catchy organ line in your brain for days. On there, the combination hones their other joint love - tunes with explicit lyrics for all your romance needs, in the club as well as at home. Think of a red light varieté, just with a ton of well crafted and layered low end added into the mix, all the while Eliza Legzdina boldly guides you through her sex-positive life as a queer diva: “I am not an option, i am a tremendous opportunity.”

You may know Eliza Lezdina from her multitudes of features, be it with Bianca Oblivion from LA on their Blog-House reminiscent EZ 4 Me or, well, from her Fudge hit with no one other than UK superstar Idris Elba. With unorthodox roots in opera and poetry, Eliza started her musical career with a singing scholarship. Her education continued in East London's underground queer club scene, where the diva ‘gave birth to herself’. The release of her debut EP, 'Iron Curtain Golden Pussy' saw Clash Magazine hail her as an "Icon-In-Waiting". From electronic infused club beats to R&B, Legzdina is not sticking with just one genre. Eliza is an openly queer, body positive woman who can run circles around any beat thrown her way.

As you may have noticed by now, the combination with Schlachthofbronx is a perfect match. Jakob and Bene worked their way through the pandemic by crafting a whole new body of work in their studio and also curated club and whole festival lineups with friends like Flowdan, Tash LC, Halfqueen, Feminine Hifi, Scratcha DVA and more, helming stages in the iconic olympic stadium and park in Munich. Always representing the dynamic bass culture scene in the Bavarian capital on tour worldwide, they continued to link with various strains of global club music movements and communities. With their Blurred Vision project, they keep rolling through clubs with an iconic high-impact speaker stack, representing all levels of soundsystem culture - which culminated in a recent parade through Munich's inner city together with other soundsystem trucks, bringing some “Notting Hill Carnival meets german techno parade” vibes to their hometown.
