Following their saucy Sway single with this fast-paced Drop, the upcoming album of the music production duo from Munich is shaping up to be a celebration of all things bass & club music as well as a songwriting leftfield of the algorithm-optimized shininess, playfully meandering between the rave and the romance side of their sound spectrum with exciting guests from their international network of vocalists, ranging from Soca to Grime and from Dancehall to experimental Pop.

Being fans & supporters of New Orleans Bounce & Sissy Bounce since 2010, Jakob and Benedikt soon worked together on some sessions with the queer artist Nicky Da B, which materialized in two singles on the 2014 Schlachthofbronx album Rave And Romance including Lights Off. Celebrating huge viral & mainstream success in the meantime with his Express Yourself hit with Diplo, Nicky Da B can be named as one of the leading figures in the innovative and influential rap genre that is NOLA Bounce, next to LGBTQI+ icons like Katey Red and Big Freedia. His early death at age 24 due to illness at the end of 2014 was therefore a tragic loss for the community.

Now fast forward to 2023, as Schlachthofbronx is gearing up to release Drop featuring Nicky Da B including recordings from these sessions. The posthumous vocals of him have lost nothing of its timeless energy, as this tune is a true testament and a heartfelt homage to his artistry and sheer power as a performer. Layering his trademark rolling lyrics & shouts to a highly repetitive and all-consuming dance imperative and combining it with the bass-forward foundation of one of their club ready future Dancehall experiments, Schlachthofbronx are as happy and excited as Nicky Da Bs family & estate to get this tune out into the world and spread his voice & work as far as possible. Always representing the dynamic bass culture scene in the Bavarian capital on tour worldwide, they continued to link with various strains of global club music movements and communities. With their Blurred Vision project, they keep rolling through clubs with an iconic high-impact speaker stack, representing all levels of soundsystem culture - which culminated in a recent parade through Munich's inner city together with other soundsystem trucks, bringing some “Notting Hill Carnival meets german techno parade” vibes to their hometown.
